The Auckland Project Pop-up Museum
Discover the story of England’s only Prince Bishops, who ruled the north from their seat of power at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland. Were they fearless warlords, kings of the north, godly priests, or ruthless politicians?
Auckland Castle is part of a wider visitor destination, The Auckland Project. Located in the heart of Bishop Auckland it comprises the castle and gardens, Auckland Tower a welcome and ticketing hub with a 15m high outdoor viewing platform, the Mining Art Gallery, Spanish Gallery, Faith Museum and a 200 acre Deer Park.
Find out more about the Prince Bishops from The Auckland Project as they host the Pop-up Museum at the shopping centre on Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October 2017 10am -5pm. Come and have a chat, decorate your own mitres, get dressed up and take a selfie in the bishop’s throne.
