EVENT: Take Off Festival 2016
Prince Bishops shopping Centre are excited to be once again sponsoring The fabulous TakeOff Family Day, on Saturday 22 October. Activities in Prince Bishops will include bubbleologist extraordinaire Jesse Ward and giant four legged bugs scurring around!
The Family Day is part of TakeOff Festival which runs from 17-23 October across the region and promises a bonanza of family treats including street theatre, music, storytelling, facepainting, arts and crafts activities and much more in Durham City centre. This year, Take Off Festival, the country’s leading festival of children’s theatre, is even bigger and better with over 70 shows in 22 venues finishing with a family celebration spilling out onto the streets of Durham city centre.
Not to be missed is We Dance, Wee Groove, a very special dance experience full of music and imaginative play for young children and their grown-ups.
You could choose to take your place on Team Polar Bear or Team Husky in Breaking the Ice, where music, shadows and projection combine to tell the astonishing tale of an unlikely friendship. Other highlights include Molly’s Marvellous Moustache, a fantastical tale of a little girl who explores what it’s like to be a grown-up when her Mummy makes her a very special moustache.
During the Family Day on the 22 October, over 15 shows for children of all ages will run throughout the day at venues in and around Durham city centre including a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Durham Town Hall.
