Important Changes to Our Car Park Opening Hours

From June 15th 2015, the award winning car park at Prince Bishops Shopping Centre will be closing each evening at midnight and will not be accessible until 6am the following morning. 

The popular Night Owl tariff whereby customers can leave their car from 6pm until 8am for £1.50 will remain unaffected. Please note that to qualify for the Night Owl tariff you must enter the car park after 6pm. If you enter the car park before 6pm, the day time tariff will be payable until 10pm. The changes come after the recent transition from a chip coin payment system to the innovative Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, a first for Durham City. The new system has been a welcome development for residents, businesses and commuters who use the car park on a regular basis by removing the worry of a lost chip coin once and for all.
