NEWS: I Love Durham Exhibition
Prince Bishops Shopping Centre is playing host to a free public photographic exhibition entitled ‘I Love Durham’. The project is a joint effort between Prince Bishops Shopping Centre and the popular photography group, ‘I Love Durham’ and will be spread across the front of the old BHS next door to H&M.
The final photographs were shortlisted from just under 300 entries in an online competition entitled ‘Durham City Photo Contest’. Gary Lintern, a photography trainer who started the online group in 2015, commented: “the standard of entries has been exceptionally high. It was very difficult for us to come up with a Top 100, let alone make the final selection of 25 images."
Richard Toynbee, centre manager at Prince Bishops Shopping Centre said “the exhibition is a celebration of our wonderful city for all to enjoy, we’ve had some really positive feedback from shoppers and lots of people have been spending time soaking up the display.”
The exhibition comprises of 28 images depicting scenes from around Durham city that range from the northbound platform at Durham train station to the Rose Window at Durham cathedral shot through a crystal ball. The exhibition will run until at least the end of January 2017.
