What will you find at Prince Bishops Shopping Centre?
Peer inside one of 448 Kilner jars and you’re in for a surprise.
A miniature giraffe, a pink elephant or your own face are just some of the many images that can be found inside of one of Masson’s multi-coloured jars. See if you can spot a miniature version of yourself inside as Masson brings a mix of projection with a good sprinkling of magic to Prince Bishops Shopping Centre.
French artist Stéphane Masson has been hijacking every day objects for art projects since 2004. Devoted to injecting craziness into our everyday lives, his previous works include The Aquarium Car (La Voiture Aquarium), Kissing Lamps (Les Lampadiares a Bisous) and interactive video recording The Box of Words.
LUMIERE brings together the world’s most exciting light artists to transform a city’s streets and buildings into an extraordinary nocturnal delight. Created by Artichoke in Durham in 2009 from an original commission by Durham County Council, it took place again in 2011 and 2013 where it also appeared in Derry-Londonderry as part of that year’s City of Culture celebrations. In November 2015 it will return to Durham, the festival is free to the public, offering them the chance to experience a cityscape in new and unimaginable ways.
Lumiere Durham is the UK’s largest light festival and returns to the city for four spectacular evenings from Thursday 12th– Sunday 15th November 2015 and will transform Durham’s beautiful medieval streets with breathtaking installations by artists from all over the world.
